It is that time of the year. Halloween. As a Christian it is a time were we seem more alert of the dark forces(I sound like a Jedi). We see witches, zombies, ghost, vampires..etc. Things that are..lets face it..evil. I am not going to take the time to go into whether or not we should participate in Halloween (dressing up, going door to door for candy, etc) but, I am going to address what is at play during this time. Also, the question I want to tackle is:

Should a christian go to a haunted house?

Not many realize the evil that is in things like a Haunted House. Whether it is considered a legitimate “haunted house” or it is one made up for entertainment. There is truly an evil that is upon each place.

Think about this, when David sang before King Saul(who had a hard heart towards David) his heart began to change. Why? Because the presence of the Lord was upon David as he ministered in music to the King. Now if there is the spirit of the Lord in this situation, what kind of spirit would be in an evil situation, or song, or movie, or a haunted house?

Many think Haunted Houses are “good fun”. What is in a haunted house? Witches, gore, murder scenes, devils, demons, ghost, chained up people screaming, blood, ..evil things! Am I wrong? All things that represent the occult, satanic things, and people who have evil intent. These people want to scare you! Bring you to fear. AS CHRISTIANS, WE ARE NOT TO FEAR. This is not “good entertainment” for a christian. I know the world likes to glorify evil. But we are not part of the world. Nothing GOOD comes out of these kinds of places. Nothing. It is evil from beginning to end.

I think about the Christians in other countries who, are being persecuted, and who have come out of the occult. They would not go to a haunted house. Why? They have seen real demons, they have witnessed people being tortured, killed, in ways that are unthinkable. Why would they ever suggest to anyone to partake or witness this stuff in fun?

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” Ephesians 6:10-12

The demonic realm is real!

Very real. My Dad use to work at Teen Challenge. He had a student that was trying to get right with the Lord. He had told my dad that there were times he could see demons going into the rooms of certain students. I know people who have seen demons in their homes. They hated how they felt. And wanted to do whatever it would take to get them to leave! We know that we fight against these demons. They try their very best to torment us.Why would we “entertain” ourselves with things that we fight against? It was no laughing matter for those who have felt oppressed or possessed by the demons.

How do we know they roam around?

“When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’Luke 11:24

So we see here, that demons do roam around trying to find a “home”. Whether within someone or something. We know that when Jesus cast out the demons they asked to be put into pigs. (Matthew 8:28-34)

And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching. And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!Mark 1:21-28

Demons shutter at the Lord. They knew what power He had or has! THAT IS AWESOME!  If you are going to the Haunted House to cast out demons in Jesus name…that is one thing. But, if you are going for entertainment…I’m not sure that is the entertainment that a Christian should participate in. Especially, when we know demonic forces roam around.

Many Christians are “lukewarm” and would be easily swayed by the demonic activity in these places. Acts 19:11-20 tells us of men who tried to cast out demons. But, the demons did not recognize the authority of these individuals. The point of this story, ONLY in the name of Jesus can we do anything. So if we are not walking in His authority, we have no business dealing with demonic forces.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons” 1 Timothy 4:1

This verse right here explains why so many Christians are interested in these things. We are living in the last day. You can argue with me about that but, it is more true now then ever. Evidence is all around, if you know the word.

Friend,I know it seems like fun but there are some things we truly need to stay away from. I can’t force you to not go to one. That is between you and the Lord, and your own convictions. I just want to encourage you to use good wisdom and judgement. As we should with all things.

The moon and the Son

Image result for moon fire quote

I found this quote the other day, while in search of some pictures of the moon. I have always been fascinated with the moon. When I step out in to the cold crisp night air and see the stars sparkling and the moon shining, I look up in awe. I think of God in those moments. In those times of quiet I have felt the Lord call to me, I whisper, “yes Lord?” I feel Him say, “stay just a little while with him in the peace of the night” My first love calling to me. How can I refuse?

It is interesting how important the moon is in our life. We know the moon controls the tides. It also controls the speed of the earth. Its slight gravitational pull effects the how long the day will be as well. Not only has it protected us from many space debris/rocks, but it marks seasons and harvest times. What I like most, is that it reflects the sun.

The moon and the sun has this beautiful relationship in the sky. We know that the side of the moon that faces earth is the side that captures the suns light. It shines down upon us. Then there are those times the sun shines through earths atmosphere and turns the moon red. A lunar eclipse. Also, known as a blood moon. Everything in harmony from the beginning.

This poem reminds me of how I want to reflect the Son. I know there have been times in my life when I have had that encounter or epiphany (whatever you want to call it) with God. It truly feels like a fire burning inside of me. Like my bones want to jump out of my skin. I want to dance and shout and sing! My reserved nature, however, prevents me from doing so. But, in those moments I do feel like my skin glows. People see it in my eyes too! They see the joy that they long for. They see the hope that they strive to cling too. They know I have something that they want. It seems like I am boasting. This is not my intent. But if we are to reflect anything it should be Christ Jesus.

There has been times where I have felt like the other side of the moon. Cold, alone, not reflecting the glory of God. It is not a place I want to be. Or a place I ever want to go back too. Yet, even in the darkness, it was light to Him. I too, still found hope. And faced the Son again. And found His warm embrace. His light making me new. His love shining on me. I reflected His light so that others may see Him too.

In the movie, Man of Steel, Jor-El says this to Superman,

“You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.”

I Love it for this reason, We are the hope to this world. We are the reflection of the Lord. What people see in us, I pray, is the Lord. His love shining through. Hope and joy, Peace and comfort…walking testimonies of how glorious God is. Then we can encourage them on. Point them towards Christ. Then they too can be in the Light. Reflecting the King of Kings.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

Ephesians 5:1-2

When someone wrongs you

What do you do when someone has wronged you?

Worldly mindset:

I am going to stay mad at you until you as for forgiveness. I am going to ignore you. I am going to stay bitter at you. I am going to hold the grudge for as long as it takes until you come crawling back humbly to me. I am going to take revenge. I am going to take it all. I will show no mercy. I will tell all of what you have done.  I will run your name through the mud.

Sounds awesome to say that or do that doesn’t it? It is funny that we see superheroes go through a similar situation which leads to them becoming a vigilante or super hero. But notice over time their character changes. They have an “ah ha!” moment. They see the “error of their ways”. Then they turn around to fight for good things. No longer on a path of vengeance or “getting even.” And should they have a sidekick they end up teaching their sidekick that taking the path of revenge is not a good path to be on.  But, we see how living a lifestyle like that can really deteriorate a soul. Why? because it is evil thinking. HATE!

Verses on the matter:

Ephesians 4:31 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”

Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrong.”

Romans 12:9 “Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

Leviticus 19:18 “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself..”

Godly mindset:

I have forgiven you of what you have done (Matthew 6:14-15). I will not hold what you did against you. (2 Corinthians 2:5-8) I will remember it not more just as God has remembered my sin no more (Colossians 3:13) Because I love you (1 Corinthians 13:4-6) God forgave me for what I have done. If I have Christ Jesus in me, then I should offer mercy and compassion for my fellow brother/sister in Christ.(1 John 2:9-15) If one has wronged me multiple times I will forgive them multiple times as well. (Matthew 18:21-22)

Seeking God in all situations always helps. Sometimes there will be times you have to just let God handle it and all you can do is remain silent and forgive.

Give it to God, pray for the person, and let God deal with it.

“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 (Dueteronomy 32:35)

This is the stuff that drives me crazy!

WARNING: Below is a random blog. Out of no where… random thoughts from the mind of Fire Starter (twitter name) will be expressed below. You have been warned it may not make sense or will it!?

This is the stuff that drives me crazy. Couple things that popped in my head when I just typed that out(which this could be 21 of my list. “finding a song for everything you say or do” which is something I do..lol) But How many thought of:

Image result for drive me crazy Maybe this is showing what generation I am from.

Maybe you thought of her…Brittany Spears.Image result for drive me crazy

She has a song, “Drive me crazy” but I am not promoting her or that song… lol.

Maybe you are a good person and you thought immediately of this song…(Christians) This is the stuff that drives me crazy. By Francesca Battistelli (click)

Okay this bugs me. So I am messaging, tweeting, texting and that one word that I type changes the whole outcome of the message. The unfortunate soul who is receiving this, will have to interpret what I meant. Or be offended that I used a bad word(on accident) in the message. So below are a list of words I have trouble with. Maybe you can relate or add to it in the comment section below..

My intended word                        The mess up

Of                                                         if

Kid                                                       lid

But                                                      bit

God                                                     hod, or his (btw what is a “hod”?)

Some of them, might be because my thumb bumps the wrong letter. Okay, also, I may do it because I am trying to respond fast and I don’t pay attention.

OH then THERE are those words that you have to make sure YOU’RE spelling right.

  • their, there, they’re.
  • your, you’re
  • hear, here
  • write, right

Can you think of more?

  1. When a business calls you up only for you to answer and then no response but a quick hang up. You call back and you get a voicemail or automative message.
  2. When you talk to someone, who is representing a business, and you say “goodbye” and they do not return the “goodbye” but just hangup!
  3. When  you unsubscribe from an account and it says it will take 5-7 business days before you are officially unsubscribed. I may have exaggerated that one. But you know what I mean!? I wanted to unsubscribe that day because your emails are to frequent.
  4. When you forget to put water in your dry microwaveable bowl of oatmeal. THAT is a fun smell to have in the house if you don’t blow up your microwave first.
  5. When the wind knocks open your mail box and it is raining so all your mail is wet. That is fun peeling everything open especially the bill! ugh!
  6. When you go to the automatic car wash (a fun event for the kids) and you put all 28 quarters in only to find out the stupid machine ate your money and the car wash is out of order! Disappointments all around.
  7. When the wind knocks your trash cans over and it rolls down the road.
  8. When your five year old daughter acts like a teenager. Thanks youth group girls 😉
  9. When someone slammed the door (kids)on the refrigerator and it cracks the freezer door open. But you don’t find out about it till the next day and some of your freezer items are melting.
  10. When they put Christmas stuff up in the store right next to Halloween stuff…In September.
  11. When you have a flat tire and you find out you don’t have a spare or tire jack.
  12. When you run out of toilet paper..while on the toilet..out in public. (Nightmares coming true. lol)
  13. When you thought you had your alarm set…
  14. When you are making cookies and you are missing one ingredient.
  15. When you forgot to pull the laundry out of the washer. For a couple days. Nice smell. (maybe I only have that problem.lol)
  16. When you are running behind(BC of number 13 )and on the way to church you hit. every. single. light!
  17. When you come back from church and realized you left the back door open. oops!
  18. When you have to think of a few more items because of your ocd. And the whole i-have-to-end-on-an-even-number thing
  19. When you go to church(or anywhere) and you have forgotten (in your rush of numbers 13 and 16) to put your deodorant on. So, you go to hug people at church like you have broken arms.
  20. When you thought you were saying something funny and you literally hear cricket sounds.

Can you relate to any? haha, Oh the things I have experienced!

I really meant all this in good fun. I don’t really get that frustrated. We live in an imperfect world. We have to lighten up. Take it easy. (I know easier said than done..speaking to myself too)But bad stuff happens..But God is Good! Sometimes we just gotta laugh!

Hopefully you, who are reading this, can expand in the comments below. But keep it “G-RATED” thanks!

Why I don’t go to church (pt 2)

Image result for no church

We are continuing on from my last blog, and wrapping it up with the last two points. REFRESHER

  • I don’t feel welcomed
  • Jesus never went to church

I know I have been a bit ornery in the last blog. But, this one is one that will step on some toes.

No welcome here

People say they do not “feel” welcomed in church. Let us ask this, Is it because they things that are being preached convict you? Is it the fact that people feel overly friendly and show love? Or was it a one time experience that you felt no one cared that you were even there? We are going to break it down.

  • First-I felt no one cared. This is often something that does happen in many churches. It is as if they forgot all about “love one another”. Even Paul says to the churches in some letters to “greet one another a with a kiss” (11Finally, brothers, rejoice! Aim for perfect harmony, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.” 2 Corinthians 13:12) NOT that we need to be greeted with a kiss, because it is not our custom to do so. But, he is implying show brotherly love(agape) for another. So if a church is not displaying this to its fellow brothers-whether first time visitors or lifetime members- then they are doing something wrong! Do not let one experience set you in believing that “this is how it is.”
  • Second-Whoa..too friendly! Um…whats wrong with that?I am kidding. I am a shy person my nature so I get how some find over friendliness a bit scary. So find another church that fits your style. Do not just run away because the people are not like you. Find a church that has a similar personality as you. BUT, that preaches the word! So stop using excuses!(That is said in love.)
  • Third-“Preacher be stepping on my toes every Sunday.” Again…Whats wrong with that? NO seriously, what is wrong with that? That is what the pastor does, he seeks God for what to say to the congregation. The lord guides him to say what needs to be said, for whoever needs to hear it. (at least that is how it should be done) By the way, sometimes you are not the only one feeling the conviction. Look at all the letters Paul writes to the early church. Paul speaks on things that still steps on toes today! And we are to encourage each other. So many verses on this. So many. We cannot have relationship with believers if we stay at home every time the church doors are open. We can not encourage one another if we do not “gather together” as it is mentioned in scripture to do.

Jesus never went to church.

Hmmm…lets look at what Jesus did.

When he was 12, Luke 2:49 “And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

If Jesus, knew the importance of being in the House of God, speaking with others about the things of the Lord, isn’t that enough to say we should be there too? Learning the things of the Lord, being encouraged in the lord…you typically get that when you are around those who are meeting together. Many times my family and I will say “we are having church up in here, come on!” because we are talking about the things of God. Sharpening one another. (Proverbs 27:17, Hebrews 10:24) You CAN NOT get that from watching TV church.

Luke 4:15-16 says, “He taught in their synagogue” and he went their “as was custom”, meaning, it was the “thing to do.” If it was the thing to do,  why would Jesus break that custom? Where does this “custom” come from? For more information click here: Command to have worship services on a weekly Sabbath

For more opinions on the matter: What does the bible say about church attendance?

With all this being said, to sum it all up…Go to church. Yes, you can worship God anywhere. Yes, you can have church anywhere. Anywhere that people of like mind will instruct you in your growth, correct you if you are doing things ungodly, pray with you, hold you accountable, and sharpen you! God did not mean for us to fight battles alone. He is with us and He has put others to help us go through it together.

Why I don’t go to church (pt 1)

Image result for no church

People today use all kinds of excuses as to why they do not go to church. Have you heard these?

  • Hypocrites go there
  • I can have church at home
  • I am the church
  • The early church didn’t meet in a huge building
  • Church is a club
  • I don’t need church, I am alright
  • I am not good enough to go. (too many sins).
  • I don’t feel welcomed.
  • Jesus didn’t go to church

Let us talk about this. I mean really talk about this. I have heard Christians..yes CHRISTIANS say this! First off, when the world knows that you are a Christian, they assume you go to church. Why do you suppose? Because even though they themselves may not be a Christians they know that that is where Christians go. Because it is like a “club” for those of faith go to be around like minded people. So if the  world gets it then why don’t Christians?

They are watching us (the world) They look to us and they see what sets us apart.

Okay here we go…

Hypocrites go there

So people who are sinners go to church? Why do you suppose they are going? To learn about God. To be a better Christian. “But they point out my flaws while they themselves have many” Who is perfect among us? No one! No not one! 2 Corinthians 3:18 “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord–who is the Spirit–makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”  SO until the Lord returns we will not be perfect. But we are being changed, renewed, and transformed into the image that will reflect Christ.

I can have church at home-I am not good enough

These are often said to me . Firs thing I notice with these statements (and mistake me if i am wrong) but, I many just plan do not want accountability. Pride being the other issue along with not wanting to be a part of “organized religion.”

Question: Are you reading your bible while you are at home? Because it clearly says that we are to “not forsake the assembling of one another”(Hebrews 10:25) Okay so you are having friends over for discussions about the Lord. Is this a “practice” thing you do? The early church met daily too. That was how the early church started. I get that. That is okay. That is church yes. If that is what you do, there is nothing wrong with that. But is it that you don’t want accountability? (Many pastors even have opened up churches that are non-denominational. They don’t want to be held accountable for how they “run” the church or what they teach-different topic/another blog)

  1. Accountability-Some do not go because they just do not want to be around people who can hold them accountable for their actions.- “There will be people who will tell me what I should and shouldn’t do. And why should I listen to them when they are just as messed up as I am?” Believe it or not, there are legitimate Christians, who are in church, who truly care about your walk and who are not hypocrites. They are the ones that are the TRUE Christ followers and who ARE living for the Lord as scripture speaks of. These Christians, are the ones that “carry one another’s burdens”(Galatians 6:2) “pray for one another”(James 5:16) “whoever saves one from destruction” (James 5:20) ..etc. They care and genuinely love you. As Christ asks us to do.
  2. Stubborn pride- “I am my own church,” “I am not good enough,” “all it is is a club”..ugh.. I could go on about this. But I am going to make my point simple, GET OVER YO-SELF! (sorry that was my flesh rising up) Read scripture. You CAN NOT walk this life on your own.Yes, you have Jesus, that is all you need. But, scripture, no God even designed us to be with one another. “it is not good for man to be alone”(Genesis 2:18), “two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12), “teaching another” (Colossians 3:16) Just to point out a few verses. We need each other too. Many who go to church do not feel “good enough”. I know I don’t “feel” good enough. I know I am a sinner. But, I know that I am forgiven, I still mess up some days more than others. So welcome to the club. Ha! What better “club” to be apart of then one where you are with people of like mindedness? At least we then can all grow together, help each other, sharpen each other in the word. And oh!…have fun with another. Yes, Christians who go to church do have fun!
  3. Organized religion-A structured system of faith or worship, especially one followed by a large number of people“(English Oxford Living Dictionary)  Wait..whats wrong with that? (okay I am sorry.. I will be nice) So, you don’t want to “go with the flow” you don’t want to do “what everyone else is doing”? Awesome! Jesus didn’t either. He saw that organized religion was getting too….organized? (lol) Meaning, rules and ritual based etc. It wasn’t following how God intended it to be. Yes, God wants obedience but, the priests were making things difficult with all the compromising-rules-to-justify-their-sins..stuff! Don’t get me wrong, God is a God of order. But, what the priest were doing, what some churches do, is not what God wants. If it is not all for Gods glory but mans, then it is wrong. If it is vain repetition, it is wrong. We are to Let the Holy Spirit have His way. Meaning , listening to Him speak. A church that puts God first, and not the leadership, will be a “blessed by God” church.

I am being followed!!

Aston-Martin.com (pic)

Today I was driving back from my morning walk, thinking about a million things, like most women do, and I noticed a police car was following me. I immediately looked down to my speedometer to make sure I wasn’t speeding. Then the thought that raced through my mind was “is my insurance up to date?, I better make sure I am a good distance from the vehicle in front of me?, I need to make sure I slow down early and not at the last minute., Get my phone out of my lap just in case I do get pulled over.”

What is wrong with me!? I am a safe driver. I was obeying the law. I haven’t had a ticket in years. There was nothing for me to worry about. Yet, I almost started to panic a bit, all because the law COULD have found something wrong to pull me over for.

WHAT if we were that way when God was watching us? We were extra cautious, we obeyed all the laws, and we knew that there was nothing to worry about because we are guilt free.

Of course Jesus can help us with that. And the Holy Spirit guides us in life..when we listen.

But, that is it! We are not doing those things. We, at times, do not seem to care that God is right there watching us. We have to renew our mind. Here’s this as a reminder:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us also lay aside every weight,

and sin which clings so closely,

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us..”

Hebrews 12:1

Since we are being watched and records are being kept, wouldn’t we want to strive or try to do our best? Yet, we fail, we give in, we stumble, we fall, we give up. Sure it can seem a little scary that we are being watched in that way. But it is to keep us on the straight and narrow.

To be honest, that is a tough path sometimes. It takes discipline. A lot of discipline. Scripture says to “beat your flesh into submission” (1 Corinthians 9:27) in doing so we will stay on the right path. We obviously can not do it without the Holy Spirits guidance.

Accountability is key too.  Having others of like mind, who can encourage you in the Lord. (Hebrew 3:13) We ARE to be our brothers keeper.(1 Peter 3:8, 1 Thessalonians 4:9) Judge each other on our fruit etc. click -Blog on judging We are to use scripture to rebuke, correct, instruct, edify..etc.(2 Timothy 3:16)

So, in doing these things we can finish the race, we can endure, we can stay on the straight and narrow.

Challenge: finds someone to be your accountable partner. Truly study scripture. Make time for God. If there is anything else we do, we must seek Him. That means getting on our faces before God and seek Him.

My heart, what do you know?

You are a dangerous thing.

I feel I can trust you.

But the moment I do I find I am hurt again.

You have failed me.

I was foolish to follow you.

I felt that you were wise.

I should have listened to someone smarter.

My brain?

No!…the voice of the Lord.

Had I listened to Him,

I would have been saved from that pain.

But can you beat again?

He says, “Yes”

I am listening to God now.

He that formed you, my heart,

He that can change you,

He can fix you.

Re-mold you and shape you to be like His.

What does my heart know?

It knows Jesus.

Who should I vote for?

Image result for vote

Christian Americans are stuck between a rock and a hard place this election cycle. We have two candidates, in which many feel, are both evil. I am just being honest. Many of the people I talk to, do not like either. But, many are willing to vote for the “lesser of two evils”. by the way, I have grown to hate that phrase as well as, “A vote for _______ is a vote for _____” ….REALLY!?

So what is a Christian to do? Should we vote for the lesser? What would Jesus do? I am going to break it down in the easiest of ways. Mainly, because I am an average stay at home mom, with little college education, and I just want to make it plain and simple so to not complicate things.

I am going to come at you in a simple and semi short answer of who we should vote for. First, I will respond, as best as I can, from a concerned American perspective. Then I will respond from the Christians perspective.

I just want to establish that I am not telling you who to vote for. Though it does seem to imply I am leaning more one direction than the other. Which to warn you, I am a Christian first, then a Conservative. So I am influenced by the two.

American answer

Let us look quickly at the records of the two. Both are liars, deceivers, frauds, and cheats. But is this something that would make a good president? I know no one is perfect. We have a history of bad leaders. But we want change. We were promised “change” with President Obama, and we got it. But it was to our destruction. The world doesn’t view us as they once did. So to vote in a leader that is just as “transparent” as our current POTUS, well, neither would or should get the vote.

As we watch Trump over the course of the year we have seen that there has been some (very little) change. He said, that he has talked with widows and people who are out of a job, and that during that course it has had an affect on him. While Clinton is continually denying she did anything wrong with Benghazi, the email scandal seems…well, a shady, we see her looking sick and yet she says she is fine. Sure they both have shady past. But one is trying to get past that, the other is continuing to lie.

I do see that Trump wants to make America better. Meanwhile, Clinton continues to divide us on all levels. Equal rights and opportunities is a great thing! But, when she supports groups that “hate” our country, I find it difficult to support her. Also, she supports groups that want to have more rights than everyone else…there is nothing “equal” about them and their agenda. Clinton has not made it a secret that she wants to “carry on” what her former boss has established. What I have seen come out of the current administration is division. Our country gets more and more divided. And Clinton seems to further that along with her rhetoric and support for these groups.

I know Trump has said things and done things that would make him, has made him, a laughing stalk. He has said hurtful things. He can be crude. But what politician hasn’t in any election cycle. After all he didn’t become one of the richest men in our country be negotiating with kind warm fuzzy words. And America is eating that up. We want someone who will stop being politically correct. Someone who will just say it like it is. I am not saying that is  a good thing for the future leader of the free world. But, we also do not want a weak leader.

Our country is in debt. Big time! That is no secret. Here we see a man, who is more than qualified to lead us out of that. Sure, he went bankrupt a few times, but he learned from it. And is one of the richest men in our country. Also, what candidate would say, “I won’t take even one dollar” when referring to presidential salary when elected? (click- Article on Trumps statement) Here, we feel that, he would rather fix America first, financially, than take from her.

I could go on. However, I just wanted to highlight a few things here. So, we move on.

Christian answer

As a Christian we cannot worry who becomes the leader of the United States. As a Christian, we DO want someone that represents us, or at least as close as possibly, our morals and values. We want someone, who will help the widow, the orphan, the sick, and who will protect innocent life.  So they MUST be against abortion. Someone who will NOT attack Christians values.  A POTUS, that which will care for the needs of others. THIS is how America became great!

We, as Christians, want someone who is wise and puts godly council about him/her. We know this is the best thing to do in leading the country.  Because if there is godly council, then that means they will go before the Lord for wisdom.  They will seek God and pray for this country.

We want a POTUS who will support Israel. Why? God choose Israel for reasons that I do not have time to share here. But, in this he told Abram, also known as Abraham, that He would bless his descendants and all those who blessed him.

“Now the Lord said[a] to Abram, “Go from your country[b] and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3

This is one way we can make America better, if we bless Israel. I don’t know about you but that seems like a pretty easy way to be blessed.

I know there is so much more to talk about. But I do want to keep it simple. What are you first, An American or a Christian? I know most of the people who may read this will be Christians. So that is why I wanted to address this. We are a Christian first. If we see that the candidate is not representing us then our rights will be taken away.

I know we are gearing up for the end times. Things WILL get worse for us Christians. However, we cannot be thinking that when we vote. Vote as you would if God wasn’t coming back soon. Vote with your morals, values, and faith.

If you did a quick research on when America was at its greatest, you would see it was when God was worshiped in our country or when kids still prayed in school. God was our foundation when this country was founded.

Yet, Satan and his liberal minions have been chiseling at the foundation for years.  Today we see the evidence of that in our country. That is why we cannot vote for more of this kind of thinking.

We have to vote for someone who will seek God and has godly council. Who will try, to the best of their ability, to Keep God in our country.

But, when we see America fall, DON’T LOSE HEART! Stand firm in your faith. God is our keeper and our strong tower. We will have to endure hardship, but God is with us!

Who am I? Identity Crisis

We have all asked this question. Maybe it leads to other questions like: Who do I want to be? What is my purpose? Why was I made? Will I ever be something? What is Gods will for me life?

Knowing who created us.

Have you ever met someone who has a relationship with Jesus Christ? They seem confident in themselves. They have a mission. A purpose. Why? Because they know their creator.

We do have a creator. In Psalm 139:13-16 it says:

“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.”

If He created us, does He not have a plan for us? After all, every other thing in the universe has a purpose for why it is created.

Take a look at the moon. Sure the moon gives light at night, is used for marking seasons, but it controls the tide as well. If the small gravitational pull of the moon did not pull on the oceans tide do you know what would happen? It is because of the slight pull of the moon that causes the Earth to bulge a bit. Causing the Earth to rotate at a certain speed. So, not having a tide would not matter,(that much) if the moon was gone, but we would have shorter days.

“The movement of the bulge of tidal water across the oceans and its attraction to the Moon acts as a brake on the Earth’s rotation. Slowly but surely the length of a day is increasing.”

– Kaare Aksnes

Eventually, the Earth would speed up, ever slightly, and our days would be shorten. What would we do without the moon? (click for more info)

God has made everything for a reason and a purpose. So why do you think He doesn’t have a plan for you?

How unique we are compared to all creation too!

Genesis 1:26-28

Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[b] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Our Purpose then?

Proverbs 12:22

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

What is being said here is when we seek God we will discover His plan for us. Do not let the world tell you who you are. They were not the ones that made you unique. With that color hair, that personality, that height etc.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Until we discover what God has made us for, and even after, we are told to “rejoice”, “pray”, “give thanks” no matter what. Here is a goal more people need to do anyways. How the world would be different if they did.

Isaiah 43:1-6

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. …

God is unchanging. I know that His word stand through the test of time. If He made these statements to the people way back then, and allowed them to remain today, would He not mean for us to apply them to us today?

“But, I want to be/look like…”

The world likes to tell us who we are. And if we do not measure up then we are left feeling sad, lonely, depressed, worst off than before. EMPTY! Today, many struggle knowing who they are. They try to physically change themselves to be something entirely different than what God had planned.
Satan, the author of deception and confusion, is always saying that we will “be better”, if we don’t follow Gods plans for us.  He will whisper, “you can do it our own way” or that we can change what God has made.
We feel that what God has made was not “good enough.” I have been there. Many have. But think about this,in the book of Job, God is telling Job all the things He has made. And He says to him (paraphrased) “How can you question what I have made or done?” After a couple chapters of God proving how great He is, (And God is great!) Job is humbled and says:
Job 42:3
“Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.”

God is not some distant God who doesn’t care about us. He wants to be apart of our daily lives. Every moment. He tells us He is an all-sufficient (more than enough) God.

Our shelter, refuge and hiding place (Psalm 91)
• The one who comforts us (2 Corinthians 1:3)
• Our healer (Psalm 103:3)
• The source of wisdom (James 1:5)So if we know our Creator we will know who we are. Because He give us purpose, He gives us confidence, He heals our broken fallen nature, He gives us hope.  In Him, we are satisfied. We do not longer for the things of the world or trying to “please man”.  If our inward being is made whole, than we will look at our outward being as specially made.

God has prepared

We will not know what God has planned unless we seek Him.“But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— 1 Corinthians 2:9 That means, to me, that it is a life of amazing things…well definitely, amazing things to come. But, also, if we are walking in His ways we will experience amazing things here in this lifetime too.

John 15:9-11

“Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

Satisfaction Guaranteed!

The Maker guarantees His work. No mistakes when He made you! He has plan and purpose for you. If we do what He has called us to do: “Abide” in Him, seek Him, … then you will be/feel full and complete!

Psalms 16:11

You make known to me the path of life;
    in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Psalms 107:9

“For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things”
