Recently, I have repented of a sin, that not only damaged me and my walk with God, but damaged others around me. It is difficult to admit, especially when I have acted as if nothing was wrong. I was blinded. But, this blog is not what I did but what comes after.

I feel guilty and remorseful for what I have done. For what I did to those involved. But all those involved have forgiven me. And most importantly, God has forgiven me. Many, struggle with a sin and repent but, still stay in that state of guilt.

So many go through this. I have.

You go to God and repent. You think automatically that you will feel different. Some do. Some do feel that burden lifted. The guilt taken away. Some feel like they have become a new person all of  a sudden.

But, others still hold on to that feeling of shame. “how could God forgive me?” “I have sinned so much!”

Here are some verses that you can feel encouraged by:

1 John 1:9

Hebrews 8:12

Isaiah 43:25

Isaiah 1:18

Matthew 26:28

Isaiah 55:7

READ any of these verses and you will see…God forgives..not matter how much you have sinned. If you have repented you ARE forgiven. Your sins are remembered NO MORE!!

Satan likes to remind us of our past mistakes. He likes us to relive the horror of it all. Why? Because if we are a Christians, that stays down, we are not being effective in the Kingdom of God.

He(Satan) knows, that when we realize God is for us, we are unstoppable!

Did you read that!? With God….

We Are Unstoppable!

I know I am undeserving of forgiveness. But He(God) still gives and He still loves

Forgiveness. Love.

Love. Forgiveness.

They go hand in hand.

This is something that has taken me time to understand. Until recently. We know true love when someone forgives us. We display true love when we can forgive others.

1 Peter 4:8

Colossians 3:13

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Now that you are a person that KNOWS forgiveness, you must forgive yourself and/or others.

Luke 17:3

Ephesians 4:31-32

Matthew 18:21-35

We see how much God has forgiven us. No matter how many sins we have done, or how “great” they seem in our own eyes (sin is sin in Gods eyes) when we repent…God forgives us. Therefore, we know when someone has wronged us, we can forgive them.

We have felt the full effect of forgiveness for ourselves and we know the relief we had. So we can give that to others. It is Gods love in us that does this.

Compassion and mercy was demonstrated on the cross ..

“It is rare indeed for anyone to die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ” Romans 5:7-8

If Christ did that for you and I, so should we do that for others.

Jesus said to me,

“though you have _________, I forgive you”

That’s why I can say to someone:

who curses me out

“i forgive you”

when someone lies about me

“i forgive you”

when you have done me wrong

“i forgive you”

Image result for the cross

IN those words of “i forgive you”

are words of “i love you”
