Did I catch your attention? GOOD!

It is funny how things work out. How we go through trials and situations and we look back and see how Gods handiwork was in it. How foolish we are to think we can do things on our own. We try to satisfy the flesh only to find out …it is not satisfying. Yet, we know this, especially, as a christian. We know only God satisfies. But oh how we run to those things instead of God. Foolish people that we are! WE must keep our eyes fixed on him. Do we not know that scripture:

New Living Translation
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

He is out to get us! The enemy, the devil. He is OUR enemy. Do we not see that? He divides us as a body of believers with gossip, hate, un-forgiveness, bitterness, and pride. In our relationships, no matter what they are, he (Satan) comes in to destroy it all. How blind we are at times, taking the easy route. The “thing” that “feels” good, instead of going to the One who meets all our needs. Who, satisfies every part and leaves us wanting only more of Him (Jesus).

It is truly, all about accountability and discipline. How we American Christians do not like either. Maybe it is the human race in general. But we must, if we are to truly be a light and live right in this world. (Not that we are blaming others for when we fall. But to know that we are in this together too. That if we see a brother stumbling we need to hold them up. That we too need to allow ourselves to be accountable to others so that we do not go down that “slippery slope” of destruction. How easily we can fall (Some of us)

James 5:16Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Luke 17:3 Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him,

Proverbs 27:17Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

Hebrews 4:13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Matthew 12:36-37 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

Enough to to strike reverent fear in us to do what is right, huh!? Or to repent when we recognize we have sinned.

How alluring sin is too. We HAVE to guard ourselves. Flee from sin. But be able to recognize sin too. Many do now recognize sin because we are a part of a body of believers that do not speak about it. That is were accountability comes in.

We need to place ourselves around the godly who will “help us” on our path of righteousness. Not being around those that are hateful and think highly of themselves- “holier than thou”.  Not being around those that will “tickle our ears”.

But, being around true friends that are more concerned about our soul than hurting our feeling. I would rather have someone hurt my feelings than, not tell me what I was doing was sin. I like what Paul writes here:

“8 For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:8-11

Paul is concerned about the people of Philipi. He prays that their “love may abound” and that “knowledge and discernment” would be among them. That they would be “blameless for the day of Christ” and that they would display that “Fruit of righteousness”. That is how we should be towards one another. Caring that each other is growing in the Lord. Running the race ..forward..not backward. Staying on the narrow path.

This is my prayer for you the reader. Fixing our eyes on the Lord. Not looking to the right or left. But to the Lord. Our guide. So when the enemy comes, and he will, we can stand firm on our faith. Knowing that, only, God satisfies. Only God meets our needs and fulfills us.

This life can throw all it can and I will stay strong, In Jesus Name!

This is my prayer for all.
